Clarity, the managers of Art of Chicago have launched a new blog focused on unconventional thinking. The site is called Blog for Squares and is authored by Warren Greeley (that’s me).
The blog has daily articles on out of the box thinking and has full RSS subscription capabilities for those of you who frequent blogs. Check it out at BlogforSquares.com and leave me a comment to let me know what you think.
I was browsing through some online blogs as I do on occasion and I stumbled upon this website called Behance, with the tag line “Make Ideas Happen.” It was an interesting find having lots of tips for creative people and artists on turning their vision into a reality. You may want to check it out. It’s a pretty cool blog with lots of insight.
Hello All, just wanted to let you know that we are back from our trip to California. The Ocean is beautiful but nothing could permanently tare us away from the windy city.
Anyway, sorry about the submissions not listed yet. As we mentioned in the notice on the home page, we were not updating while out of town. Your submissions from that point will be posted within the next 48 hours. Sorry for any inconvenience.
We are glad to be home. Sweet home Chicago!
We want to bring together the Chicago art community even more. We are asking artists and galleries that use our site to have us linked back on their own site. This way the community can find you and those visiting your site can find us. This is not mandatory for our users because we remain focused on helping the artists of Chicago but we request that those using the site do this in return.
I would like to apologize to those signing up recently. I know a lot of times it has been taking more than the 48 hours promised to add your listing. The reason is we have been working hard on several different projects.
The big one is something we hope to bring chicago and all the other cities in the world of art together with a website. It is called the International Art Network.
To find out more about it go to www.intartnet.com
Sorry, we apologize for the blog being down for a number of days. Our company, C&G GLOBAL, while switching all our sites over to our new server had some trouble with the databases but all is clear now. We hope no one has turned away from the Art of Chicago blog because of this error. Come back soon for more posts.
We have big news coming soon…
Thanks,
Warren
Art of Chicago
On the Weekend of the 21st of April we visited the Creative Chicago Expo held at the Chicago Cultural Center in the Loop. Beside getting asked if we were interested in buying property about seven times, it was a terrific event. We talked to many new people who did not yet know about our free art resource website and we also had a chance to talk to several galleries and organizations who have used the site already in person, which was a great experience. Over all we were very pleased with the event and do plan to attend and possibly present at the 5th Annual Creative Chicago Expo which will be held next year.
We are currently working on a new section of the website which will be titled “Artist Stories.” This section will have articles about Artists from all walks of life in the Chicago Land Area. Before we launch it we need Artists to tell us their personal stories about their life and history as an artist. If you are interested please submit your story in by clicking here or to find out more you can email us at info@artofchicago.net.

Celebrating 100 Listed!
Since our launch about a month and a half ago we have grown quickly. Art of Chicago now has over 100 Artists, Galleries, and other Art related organizations listed with their links and contact info.
We will continue to offer free listings for all in the art community and now offer other options as well. You can sign up as a “Featured Artist” for only $5 a year and be bumped up to the top of the list.
Also, by popular demand, requests by many AoC users, we offer the feature of adding the address of your studio or gallery for only $5 one time. This would allow patrons to find you in person.
Art of Chicago on MySpace
We have joined the global online community called MySpace with the intent of finding new patrons and allowing the Art of Chicago Community to grow.
Join us on MySpace.com/artofchicago and add us as your friend. We will also keep our MySpace friends updated on what is going on.
